The Transport Ministry has announced that the minimum age for commercial motorcycle riders, popularly known as “okada” riders, will be reduced from 25 years to 21 years. This move is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to legalize and properly regulate the okada business.
Transport Minister Joseph Bukari Nikpe shared that he has prepared a memo seeking Cabinet approval to finalize this age change in upcoming legislation.
