Motorola launches 3 new foldable Razr phones

In case you were wondering, Motorola still makes foldable Razr phones reminiscent of the old Razr, which everyone loved so much. The company announced the release of three new Razr phones on April 24, which are the standard Razr, Razr Plus, and Razr Ultra.

The Razr flip phones have Google and Motorola AI features and titanium hinges. The standard Razr is the least expensive, followed by the mid-tier Razr Plus and the high-end Razr Ultra. Performance, features, and cost differ depending on the model name.

The Motorola Razr 2025

The Motorola Razr 60/Motorola Razr is the first flip phone with the MediaTek Dimensity 7400X processor, enhancing AI performance by up to 15% compared to the previous generation. The phone comes in four colors: PANTONE Gibraltar Sea, PANTONE Spring Bud, PANTONE Lightest Sky, and PANTONE Parfait Pink. It features a titanium-reinforced hinge plate that is 4x stronger than surgical-grade stainless steel, allowing it to withstand up to 35% more folds than the previous generation.

The hinge, paired with ultra-thin Glass, creates a 30% smoother display, making it the smoothest Razr display to date. Both phones have IP48 dust and underwater protection, allowing them to withstand submersion in 1.5 meters of fresh water for up to 30 minutes. The phone offers a 6.9″ pOLED HDR10+ display with over a billion colors, an immersive 3.6″ external screen, a 50MP camera system, and adaptive stabilization for stable video shooting.

Razr 60 ultra/Razr ultra

The Razr 60 ultra/Razr ultra is available in four finishes: soft-touch Alcantara, real wood, luxe satin-inspired finish, and durable leather-inspired finish. Made in Italy, it features a 7.0″ pOLED display with a Pantone Validated display for authentic and vivid images. The 4.0″ interactive external display offers a 40% larger full view than other flip phones. Corning® GorillaTM Glass Ceramic is the toughest external display on any Razr with 10X better drop performance. The Razr 60 ultra/Razr ultra also features the world’s most advanced flip camera system, powered by moto ai and the world’s first triple 50MP camera system on a flip phone. It also supports Dolby Vision® for brightness, contrast, and color.

The Razr Plus

The Razr Plus runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, providing a smooth experience for apps and games. It comes with 12GB RAM and an external OLED display that supports up to 165Hz. The internal OLED display is seven inches and supports up to 165Hz, but it may not provide a smoother animation experience compared to phones with a 120Hz refresh rate. The Razr Plus has either a leather-inspired or velvet-inspired finish, which is unique among US phones. It has a 50MP main camera with a 50MP 2x zoom camera instead of an ultrawide lens, which is a small zoom factor compared to most phones with dedicated zoom cameras. The front camera is the same 32MP as the standard Razr. The Razr Plus is unique among phones available in the US, which mostly feature glass or plastic exterior finishes.

AI features

Razr phones now feature ‘Moto AI’, a proactive, intuitive companion that offers advanced prompts like Catch Me Up, Pay Attention, and Remember This. The new generation of Razr offers real-time recommendations, Smart Connect with AI, and Gemini and Gemini Live for creative planning and problem-solving.

Users can access Moto AI from anywhere with the dedicated AI Key, and can use Look & Talk with Moto AI in stand or tent mode. The 3nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform powers the Razr 60 ultra/Razr ultra, making it the most powerful flip phone in the world. The MediaTek Dimensity 7400X processor boosts AI performance by up to 15% compared to the previous generation.

Availability

The standard Motorola Razr costs $699.99, the Razr Plus costs $999.99, and the Razr Ultra costs $1,299.99. The Razr Ultra will be available for pre-order in the US at Best Buy, Amazon, and motorola.com, and on sale universally unlocked on May 15. In Canada, it will be available at motorola.ca, with select carriers on June 3.
