The Samsung Galaxy S series has long been a flagship line that combines innovation, power, and a sleek design. Since the debut of the first Galaxy S in 2010, Samsung has continuously redefined the smartphone experience. Each upgrade of the S series has brought new advancements, from the introduction of the Super AMOLED display to the revolutionary camera features that continue to impress tech enthusiasts and casual users alike, Samsung has set the pace of what a smartphone can offer, delivering a device that merges cutting-edge technology with a user-friendly design.

Over the years, Samsung’s S series has garnered a loyal following in Ghana and across the globe, setting the standard for premium smartphones. The Galaxy S25 Ultra is no different, offering a multitude of enhancements that make it a standout in the crowded smartphone market. But, after six months of its release, does it still live up to the hype? Let’s delve into that.

An Exceptional Camera: A Real Game-Changer

One of the standout features of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is its camera system. Equipped with a 200MP primary camera, a 12MP ultra-wide lens, a 10MP telephoto lens, and a 10MP periscope telephoto lens, the S25 Ultra is an absolute powerhouse when it comes to mobile photography. Whether you’re capturing the vibrant streets of Accra or the serene ambience of Ho, this device will deliver and outdo itself with stunning, sharp images and impressive detailing. The 100x Space Zoom feature allows for crisp shots even at great distances and with minimal noise.

The S25 Ultra also utilizes features like Night Mode and advanced AI processing. Low-light photography allows the camera sensor to capture more light and produce less noise which allows for night images to look brighter and sharper than in previous models. When it comes to its video, the S25 Ultra supports 8K recording, ensuring that your videos are as sharp and clear as your photos.

A Premium Build Design With Sharp Edges

With a sleek, matte glass back and an aluminum frame, the S25 Ultra feels premium in your hand. The design is really modern yet minimalist. The phone spots a large camera array which is seamlessly integrated into the rear of the device. Despite its size, the device feels surprisingly comfortable to hold, thanks to its rounded edges and slim profile.

The S25 Ultra flagship comes with a 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, with vibrant colors and excellent contrast, it’s perfect for watching videos, browsing social media, or playing games. The Dynamic AMOLED 2X display is particularly relevant in hot climates like Ghana where the bright sunlight can often make it difficult to see your screen. With a peak brightness of 1,750 nits this problem is easily solved. Your display remains legible even under direct sunlight.

Power and Performance

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 which ensures that it delivers top-tier performance. From multitasking with several apps open, playing resource-intensive games like PUBG, or editing high-resolution photos, your S25 Ultra device will handle these tasks and more very easily without any issues of lagging.

With the combination of a powerful processor and ample RAM of up to 16GB, your S25 will hardly stutter even during demanding tasks such as playing Call of Duty.

A Strong Battery

The Samsung S25 Ultra is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery which can easily last a full day with average usage. Samsung’s intelligent power management software ensures that the battery lasts even longer by optimizing power consumption based on your usage patterns.

Charging is equally impressive, with support for 45W fast charging, meaning you can top up your battery quickly when you’re in a hurry. Wireless charging and reverse wireless charging add convenience, allowing you to charge accessories like the Galaxy Buds or another smartphone without needing a power cable.

Six months into the much-anticipated Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, and it’s almost undisputable that that the device is built to impress and outdo its predecessors and competitors. A drawback to the device however is its price tag which is over ₵20,000, making it difficult for the average Ghanaian to purchase the device. Tech enthusiast, Marques Brownlee has also noted that apart from a few changes in camera prominence on the back of the smartphone and an alteration to the edges, the 25 Ultra looks very identical to the 24 Ultra and would be difficult to tell apart unless you’re a smartphone geek.

All in all, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is still a classy, top-notch flagship which competes with other smartphone giants like the iPhone 16 Pro Max and the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL.
